Our purpose is to promote the philosophy and platform of the Democratic Party, to elect Democrats who support this philosophy, and to promote participation in the Democratic Party and our nation’s electoral process. We also enjoy the company of other progressive Americans!
Membership is open to all U.S. citizens in Charlevoix County. Membership in the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) includes membership in the CCDP. If you don’t want to join the MDP, but want to get involved on a local level, CCDP-only membership is available. We are supported solely by member dues and the donations of supporters. Meetings are generally held at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month. You do not have to be a member to attend our meetings or events – all are welcome.

We have participated in food drives, distributed information on community health programs, fielded a team in an American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and worked to register new voters. Our members are active in peace, environmental and civil liberties groups, as well as churches, schools and other civic organizations. We are your friends and neighbors.
