Stabenow: Equipping a new generation of workers

Here in Michigan we take great pride in our history as manufacturing innovators and workers. A century ago, Lansing’s Ransom Olds patented the assembly line, and then Dearborn’s Henry Ford perfected it, paying his workers a wage that created America’s middle class. Together they changed the world.

In the course of celebrating National Manufacturing Day this month, there has been talk of whether we are witnessing another renaissance in manufacturing, one that comes with a new set of technologies – computer software and robotics to build custom parts and products.  Read More
