Forced overtime adds stress at Michigan women’s prison

LANSING — Overcrowding complaints have gained media attention at Michigan’s only women’s prison, Huron Valley Correctional Facility. But there’s another issue there that is heightening stress and pushing some officers to quit — mandatory overtime due to a long-standing shortage of female corrections officers.
