Sen. Stabenow opposes Jeff Sessions’ nomination as attorney general

Count Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan among the Democrats that plan to oppose Sen. Jeff Sessions’ nomination as attorney general.

Ms. Stabenow said Thursday she decided to vote against Mr. Sessions after meeting with the Alabama Republican this week.

She joins Democrats who say the Alabama Republican has a sketchy history on race issues and cannot be trusted as the nation’s top law enforcement official.  Read More
